Tribute to Mahatama Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti

Mahatma Gandhi inspires all of us Mahatma Gandhi inspires all of us

On 2 October 1869, a child was born but little did everyone know that he would become a legend. We are talking about Mr.Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi often called ‘Gandhi Ji’ or ‘Bapu’ in affection by his followers. His father’s name was Karamchand Gandhi and his mother’s name was Putlibai. He was born in Porbandar, Gujarat state of British India. By profession, he was a lawyer and he took his law degree from the U.K and practiced in South Africa.

From his birth place, Porbandar, to England, South Africa and then back in India, Gandhiji undertook the journey of life as an experiment. A thin man with Lathi in his hand and specs on his nose charged against Britishers to fight for the Independence of India. Mahatma Gandhi’s entire philosophy of life was around truth and nonviolence. He also believed in uplifting society and said that everyone should be treated equally. People around the globe refer to him as a symbol of peace. Truth and Non-Violence were the only two weapons that he used during his fight against Britishers for India’s independence.

Gandhi ji’s thoughts were widely accepted and people looked up to him for solutions in every situation. Be it Swadesi Movement, Non-Cooperation Movement or Poorn Swaraj, Bapu showed the way to end colonial rule in India. Gandhi ji and Rabindra Nath Tagore shared a beautiful relation. In April of 1919, Tagore had for the first time addressed Gandhiji as “Mahatma“.

Gandhi ji believed that the agriculture being practised should be organic. Mahatama Gandhi felt that those who are real farmers, could possibly join hands and form a community to cultivate their lands. He believed there should be no use of force, efforts to grow should be spontaneous and voluntary in nature. Gandhi ji had a similar dream when it came to the field of animal husbandry.

Let’s join hands to pay a tribute to Mahatama Gandhi on his birthday while remembering his teachings.
